“If we teach our children how to eat poison, they will eat poison. If we teach them how to plant food they will plant food. Why are we generating life if we are not thinking about the lives of the future?”

Benki Piyãko — A leader of the Ashaninka People

Stories By Moonlight is an outdoor initiative celebrating the value of nature connection, family time, and the universal tradition of moonlit storytelling. These twilight adventures promote nature themed storytelling and shared experience. On a wider level, the project aims to create a narrative and a call to action for children, parents and teachers focused on the relationship between human survival and environmental protection.

Through collaboration with Katie Mills, founder of ‘Forest & Family’ the network aims to amplify the reach of this annual event so that communities and green spaces across the country and beyond can participate throughout the month of August.
