In our commitment to social justice, this Safer Space Policy is a guideline that will evolve as we learn and grow. The Policy aims to:

    • Clarify the purpose of the We As Nature space for all those wishing to participate in the event breakout rooms in dialogue with other community members.
    • Share what you can expect from Flourishing Diversity as organisers.
    • Explain what you commit to by participating in the second half of these events.

The intention for the breakout rooms in ‘We As Nature’ event is to create connection in an inclusive, joyful, friendly and informal space with other people who care about our Earth, where we can reflect upon and explore the potentially lifelong inquiry of how we, as individuals and communities, can continue deepening our alignment with all other forms of life.

This event is not intended to be a space for debate or challenge and we ask people to speak from their own experience and to not seek to speak for groups/identities that are not theirs. We ask everyone be aware of their privileges, invisible/less obvious hierarchies, implicit bias and consider how our opinions and feelings are influenced and who they might exclude or harm.

As organisers, we are committed to doing whatever we can to create a space that’s respectful, understanding and kind, where every person feels able to express themselves and interact without fear or judgement. We are available during the event or any time after the session to discuss any experiences that left you feeling otherwise and to discuss a way forward.

If you have any concerns or feedback that arises during your participation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Katy Molloy, director of Flourishing Diversity, at katy@flourishingdiversity.com.
