“My Art is my mycelium” –Louis Masai, painter, sculptor & muralist

We’re big fans of the mycelium network here at Flourishing Diversity, so when our upcoming We As Nature storyteller, Louis Masai, shared the above words, we couldn’t wait to hear his story!
The vast underground network of mycelia, coined the ‘Wood Wide Web’ by Peter Wohlleben, is an interconnected, communicative, self-organising, and regenerative system through which the symbiotic relationships between plants and fungi exist, enabling life to thrive.

Louis’ personal story will bring the mycelium metaphor to life at our next live We As Nature event from 1pm – 2pm on Thursday, February 10th, 2022.
Nature is Louis’ muse and his art takes the form of murals, paintings, and installations as a way to highlight the sixth

mass extinction, climate breakdown, and species equality. During this event, Louis will share how

connecting with animals at a young age inspired his artistic journey, and how he sees his art as a way of sharing stories and messages that travel far beyond the reach of his studio. You can find out more and register for free here.
